Athletic College

If you’re an athlete, you should consider attending an athletic school or athletic college. Some colleges or universities have formed a reputation as an “Athletic College.” They either award large amounts of athletic scholarships, have the best college sports teams, have a majority of athlete students, are a harvest fest for athletic scouts, or a combination of the above.

Scholarship competition at these athletic colleges are very intense, but at athletic schools they actually have more athletic scholarships. This is to your benefit if you’re an athlete.

Any college or maybe even all colleges offer athletic scholarships, but simply attending the school that has a reputation as an athletic school is beneficial to the student, especially if they seek to become a professional athlete. It helps them get spotted in many cases. Some well known athletic schools include colleges with competitive and successful sports teams.

Scholarship competition and even admission into athletic colleges is very intense and competitive. As a result, the best athletes usually get in, which increases the schools reputation. Almost all athletic colleges or athletic universities have tryouts to determine who’s best prepared to compete as an athlete at their school. The best athletic colleges, when determining who should receive one of their limited athletic scholarships, typically consider academics and a student’s college ACT score or SAT college testing results in addition to their athletic ability. Oftentimes it can be a deciding factor. Raw talent, success, and athletic achievement are no longer good enough - you have to be smart too.

If you’re interested in sports, want a sports scholarship, or even are young and haven’t chosen your favorite sport to pursue in college, you may want to consider a sport that isn’t extremely popular. Choose a sport you love, but if you love a smaller sport you have better chances at getting a good scholarship, maybe even a full ride. Almost all colleges offer scholarships for soccer, college scholarships for football, and NCAA scholarships. Consider colleges track scholarships, lacrosse scholarships, and other sports scholarships to pursue that you’re good at but aren’t as competitive. These sports have decent scholarships; it’s not just soccer, basketball, and football that have scholarships. Most importantly, however, do what you love.

These athletic colleges and athletic universities are highly competitive, so go above and beyond the athletic skill and academic success.
